Happy Birthday to Me!

Well my birthday weekend went great! Friday July 3, I started the weekend with out to dinner with my honey. He took me to see Hair!!!!! It was fantastic. We had a wonderful time. Saturday on the July 4, I went up to Mt. Vernon NY to spend the day with my friends Gwen, Doris and Minnie! Of course we made dolls all day. Sunday July 5 (my actual birthdate) I came home from church, set up a grill and cooked. It was late and we weren't going to do it. But I said what the heck. Then my eldest son came over with his girlfriend. My daughter and my Snookums. All of my family was there. It was the best weekend ever!

Well what can be more fun than preparing for a birthday weekend! I celebrate my birthday the week before and the week after! At work I treated my staff to lunch! And then they turned around and treated me to many wonderful gifts and 3 cakes!!!! LOL!!! I will be spending a whole day with just me and hubby on 7/3. Then on 7/4 I will be spending the day with 2 of the most wonderful ladies in my life, Mama G and Aunt Doris!!!! Then on Sunday I will gather with my Sarien, Erin Aja, Gregory, Snookums and Bipa for a happy birthday to me Sunday dinner! It will be complete with party hats, ice cream and cake! Maybe a pinata. Gregory is not to keen on Pinatas. Hmmm a long story. Well anyway as Art -Is looms....Happy Birthday to me~

Where Have I Been!

Oh my goodness. It's the end of June already! I have 3 wonderful events coming up. First the African American Festival September 12, 2009 in Jersey City New Jersey. I need vendors and entertainers.

Next is Art-Is the most wonderful conference on the East Coast!!! Me and a couple of my friends will be traveling up to CT to teach. I love dollmaking, that's what I do!

Next is the annual Doll Holiday Party I host in December. I usually get a group of doll friends together and we have a sew-a-thon (dollmaking of course). So keep visiting and I will keep you informed of these wonderful events. Visit my facebook and my website too!

Art Is 2009

Well I am very excited to be teaching at Art Is this year. The theme is Alice in Wonderland. I am sure there will be tea parties galore LOL! I will be teaching an evening class. I am very excited. Now maybe I can get this blog thing to work!!!!

Happy January!!!

Obama is in yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The event was watched by me and my husband. He made a wonderful brunch and we sat and watched until dark! I was crocheting small dresses for small dolls. It was a wonderful day.

I have been invited to teach an evening class at Art Is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am more than excited. What do I teach to go with these trendy artsy ladies? I am thinking right now.

Hello Everyone!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone has fun. I am the speaker at my church during Watch Night. I am so excited!!! Dollmaking is going well. The Doll Holiday party was sooo much fun! I can't wait until next year. I am planning it now. My doll club is having a wonderful project next month.

Merry Christmas

Hello Everyone!
Christmas to me is sad this year. I am without my mom who was barely alive last Christmas but still pulled through. She died in April though. I am sad because I want to put up my Christmas tree but I can't because my arm is bad(I fell off of a chair). My husband won't put it up. I have no holiday spirit. I was thinking I am never happy at Christmas time because of my husband. I don't remember too many happy Christmas's at all. I try to make Christmas my favorite time of year until I get home. Then it's stressful.

Doll Holiday Festival

On December 13, 2008 I am preparing for the Doll Holiday Festival in Jersey City. The address is 2163 Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City Church of the Nazarene. It will be held in the church basement. There will be vendors, classes and lots of fun.! Door prizes, swaps and a goodie bag. There will be a donation of $15.00. Please come out and have fun with a fun bunch of doll making ladies. AHHH!

Almost 2 months since I last blogged wow I have to do better than that. So much going on. I worked on the African American Festival. Right after that I put my dolls in the Jersey City Artist Tour! Right after that I moved all of my belongings to a new house. Right after that I left for an incredible "Art Is", workshop. I would say you should see my house but I don't want anybody to. LOL! Nightmare. And on a very sad note my son's godmother passed away the day I came back from the art conference. He was so close to her. He said it felt like part of his world ended. Life is about rebound. We have to bounce back. I am so tired of funerals.

Making Angels

Well I am making lots of Angels. I have created a new mermaid pattern. I believe the inspiration is divine because I don't usually make mermaids. But I have created Eve the Mermangel! The Divine inspiration gave me this quote. A mermaid is just an Angel with wings at the end. So that is how I came up with the Mermangel!

Day with Dolls a Big Success!

Wow day with dolls was awesome. Gwen, Doris, Mary, Sallianne, Ellen, Minnie, Gail......to name a few. Wow!!! The kits, the door prizes. Amazing! Kudo's to the 3D Cloth Doll Club. (I am a member too) LOL! Next year the Long Island Doll Club will be hosting Day with Dolls.

Sleepy!

Wow it's 1:30 am and I am still up doing what? Dolls of course. My doll club is hosting Day with Dolls and I would like to make some miniature Prayer Angels to go with the big ones. Come out to Dolly Day. It's 8/2/08 in Mount Vernon NY.

Doll Club Success!

The first doll club meeting was quite a success. There were 6 of us. And believe me we didn't want it to end! Yeah! I can't wait until the next 2nd Saturday of August. I belong in 2 doll clubs now. My Mount Vernon Doll group is sponsoring an event called Day with Dolls. It will host 100+ ladies and gents. That's the first Saturday in August. New Doll Club!

Yeah the doll club I am starting will begin the 2nd Saturday in July. So if you are interested come on out. It will be in Jersey City, New Jersey. Call me at 551-998-5274. It's going to be fun. We will have a meet and greet of course. Work on a take home. Refreshments! Come on out! The 1st official meeting will start at 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Bring show and tell of course.

On the Move!

Well my ebay store is set up! I am starting a new art doll club in Jersey City! My blog is almost done! I have been out of my other job for 4 days and got so much accomplished. You are going to be hearing a lot more from me. I will be posting my own design of a class I taught a couple of years ago at the In The Spirit conference. I can't believe an artist who was at the conference copied my doll and proceeded to have the pattern published. But that's okay God takes care of his own. When I spoke to other doll artists about this person they said figures so she must do this a lot.
